JVP allege attack by UNP group
PERADENIYA: A group of JVP supporters who were removing
decorations at the venue of a party local Government elections rally in
Peradeniya were allegedly attacked by a group of UNP activists.
Issuing a media release the JVP states that the attackers numbering
over 30 were led by Chairman of the Yatinuwara Pradeshiya Sabha.
A complaint had been lodged with the Peradeniya Police. Meanwhile the
JVP says a party office in Pilimatalawa was stormed by a group of UNP
supporters who destroyed the decorations while threatening the
occupants. |
