Book on National Flag, Anthem translated

The book The National Flag and The National Anthem of Sri Lanka by H. M. Mervyn Herath has been translated into Sinhala by Damayanthi Sagarika Weeraparakrama Jayasundera. Stamford Lake launches this study giving the history, importance, do's and don'ts about the National Flag, parallel to the 58th Independence Day celebrations.


Panel Discussion

The Sri Lanka Eco-tourism Foundation will conduct a symposium and panel discussion on 'Breaking the cycle of hatred' on February 3 at Lotus Villa Face Hotel, Colombo from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

A panel discussion on 'Breaking the cycle of hatred' will be conducted by Prof. Steven Wolin, a senior clinical psychiatrist and teacher at the Department of Psychiatry at the George Washington University in Washington DC, USA.

The expert panel will consist of university academics, psychiatrists, postgraduate trainees, psychologists, social workers and media personnel. US Ambassador in Sri Lanka Jeffrey Lunstead will also be in the panel. Dr. Indika Karunathilake, Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo will be the moderator of the panel discussion facilitated by Palitha Gurusinghe, President, Sri Lanka Eco-tourism Foundation.


Gee Miyesiya

'Gee Miyesiya' organised by the Supply Department of Healthcare and Nutrition Ministry will be held today at 7 p.m. at the Supply Complex.

The 'Treatment Group' musician will sing at the concert.

Healthcare and Nutrition Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva will be present.


Police post opened

A police post has been opened at Dhargha town, Beruwala to restore peace and order where disturbances broke out following an assault on a youth.

The Police post has been set up under the instructions of the Inspector General of Police.


Krishnamurti talk

A recorded public talk by the late Indian sage J. Krishnamurti on "Are we concerned with total human existence?" will be held at the Krishnamurti Study Centre, Duwa Road Beddagana, Kotte on Sunday, February 5 at 10.30 a.m.
