LTTE regional leader killed in claymore blast

The LTTE's Vavuniya West Region Leader T. Jeyananthan and another person were killed in the uncleared area of Valayankattu, Mannar in a claymore mine blast at around 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Jeyananthan was riding his motorbicycle with another person passing the Valayankattu Junction along Mullikulam-Walalyankattu Road when they were blown up by the claymore mine.

The explosion occurred within the uncleared area and the attackers were not known, according to military sources.
