'Doulos' book ship in Galle today

Mv Doulos the Book Ship will be open to the public in Galle from January 04 to 12. Southern Province Governor Kingsley T. Wickramaratne will open the book ship today at 9.30 a.m. All the school children in the Galle and Matara districts have been invited to visit the Doulos Book Ship. The crew consists of 365 persons from all parts of the world.

The Mv 'Doulos' is the oldest surviving ship in the world (94 years) and is 2 years younger to the famous Titanic. All schools have been coordinated by the Southern Province Chief Minister Shan Wijayalal De Silva who is also the Minister of Education of the Province.

The Southern Province Governor will host the Group Leaders of the Crew to Dinner at the Governor's Official Residence so that they may have the opportunity to meet school principals and also the Education Ministry officials.
