CIMA symposium
A macro-economic perspective would be presented at an accountants
technical forum when the The World Bank, Country Director for Sri Lanka
, Peter Harrold will make a presentation at the CIMA Technical Symposium
2005. The Technical Symposium will be held on November 25 and 26 at the
BMICH, Committee room A.
The Symposium is expected to draw a fair body of CIMA members,
accountants in business, CFOs, CEOs and other business personalities at
their one and a half day technical symposium.
The economic paper would focus on Sri Lanka's macro-economic
environment and the value of the varied macro-economic indicators like
trade balances, inflation, interest rates, exchange rates, investment
levels and their impact on business and on economic growth and
development.
Sri Lanka's Macro-economic environment will be analysed firstly in
the context of the South Asia's economic environment and there would
also be a focus on the linkages of these macro-economic indicators and
concepts and their value and impact on business as well as on the
national economy.
CIMA, Sri Lanka is of the view that an understanding of the
macro-economic environment would help accountants in business add value
to their relevant fields of professionalism in the business environment.
The paper presented by the World Bank would also afford an
opportunity to the participants to engage in deliberation which would
help the forum to further understand the concepts presented.
The five facets of focus of the technical symposium would be
Financial Management, Management Accounting, International Financial
Reporting Standards, Information Technology and The Relevance of
Macro-Economic Environment for Business. |
