Construction Chamber congratulates President Rajapakse

The Chamber of Construction Industry, Sri Lanka has congratulated President Mahinda Rajapakse on being elected as the fifth Executive President of Sri Lanka.

The Chamber expressed its fullest co-operation and support to Rajapakse to implement the construction related projects mentioned in the "Mahinda Chintanaya".

'We have noted your wishes to achieve a sustainable growth rate of 8%. In this connection we are pleased to mention that our Chamber has been persistently promoting Physical Infrastructure Projects which are a necessary pre-requisite coupled with its corresponding plans for development.

We fully support your proposals not only for the Urban areas but also for the regions. This way it is possible to optimise the economic potential for both Urban and Rural areas.

We believe that such development could be implemented through public - private partnerships with or without direct foreign investment provided that the projects are financially feasible and promoted with attractive incentives, a press release said.
