Munchee receives highest honour for quality and performance
excellence
Ceylon Biscuits Ltd. (Munchee) was awarded "National Quality Award -
2005" in large scale - Manufacturing category by the Sri Lanka Standards
Institute recently on the occasion of this year's "World Standards Day".
This award is considered to be the nation's highest honour given to
business for "quality and performance excellence".
Ceylon Biscuits Ltd. (Munchee) which is a fully owned Sri Lankan
enterprise and a leading force in the local food industry is honoured to
have received this award as it simply means "to become a role model" and
"Standard-setter" for organizations of every kind. The National Quality
Award promotes excellence in organizational performance, recognizes the
quality and performance achievements of Sri Lankan organisations thus
making "Quality" a national priority.
The selection process for the award is highly detailed and is carried
out by an independent board of examiners and judges chaired by a retired
Judge of the Supreme Court/Court of Appeal.
Secretary, Ministry of Trade, Commerce and Consumer Affairs, Chairman
of The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, President of Federation of Chamber of
Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL), Chairman of SLSI, Executive
Director of SLSI, Director General of SLSI, Deputy Directors General of
SLSI.
The recipients of NQA undergo intense review and scrutiny to ensure
that their organizations are the best in the country. Final stage
applicants are visited by teams of examiners to clarify questions and
verify information given in the application report. |
