Rosy produces letter SB sent to Ranil

ROSY Senanayake, UNP's working Committee member at a news briefing yesterday produced a letter written by imprisoned UNP stalwart S.B. Dissanayake to UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe.

In his letter Dissanayake lamented that his hopes of being released soon had been shattered but assured he would be released after Wickremesinghe's victory at the Presidential election.

In his two paged letter, Dissanayake lamented that his expectation that he would be released before the end of the election was eroding."In a few days time, the historic Presidential election will determine the future path of our Motherland.

I will not be able to join your election campaign." his letter to Wickremesinghe states.

"You have the strength to unite this divided country by defeating extremist forces. Your victory is a victory for peace and intelligence.

It is the victory of all the people and future generations. You will rebuild the country again by revitalising the economy. Once I obtain my freedom from you I shall join my people."
