Honourable peace my aim, says Mahinda

UPFA Presidential candidate and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse said his aim was to establish an honourable peace by introducing unity among all communities.

Addressing an election rally at the Eheliyagoda public grounds, Rajapakse said he is a father of three and has a deep affection towards the younger generation.

"I hope to treat the Sinhalese, Tamils and Muslims alike and give every religious group their due place," he said.

Rajapakse said he has a solution to bring a lasting peace to the country under a 'single-state' concept.

The Prime Minister reminded the public not to be victims of the UNP's deception. Democratic Socialist Alliance leader Vasudeva Nanayakkara said it was time for the voters to select their national leader who possess a very strong none-capitalist concept.

Minister of Samurdhi and Poverty Alleviation Pavithra Wanniarachchi said the Sandhanaya will win the Eheliyagoda seat with a record majority.

Ministers Jeyaraj Fernandopulle, Susil Premajayanth and DEW Gunasekara, MPs Nandana Gunatilake and Achala Suranga Jagoda, Provincial Councillor, G. M. Karunapala and several others also spoke.
