Premier's win will benefit all communities

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse at a public rally at the Mawathagama Samodaya grounds promised to build a country where all Sri Lankans could live proudly as 'Sri Lankans'. He said a Presidential election victory will be the victory of all communities in our Motherland.

Prime Minister Rajapakse requested the people of the Mawathagama electorate to join hands to defeat UNP Presidential candidate Ranil Wickremesinghe at the forthcoming election. The masses of Sri Lanka gave us a mandate to solve the problems of the poor people. Our hope is to protect the Alliance and fulfil the requirements of the people.

He further said that Alliance was able to render yeoman service to the people, since coming in to office one and half years ago. The Government was capable of providing jobs to the youth apart from the other progressive steps taken to help the masses, which is the main aim of the Government.

Minister of Infrastructure Development and Small and Medium Industries S. B. Nawinna, said that Ranil Wickremesinghe had betrayed the country by allowing a self governing authority to be established through the Ceasefire Agreement and selling State property and resources to foreigners.

He said the people of the Wayamba will deliver a strong verdict in support of Premier Mahinda Rajapakse, because he is the only candidate who can protect our Motherland.

Deputy Minister of Public Law and Order Jayaratne Herath, Mawathagama SLFP Organiser Niranjan Wickramasinghe and Deputy Minister of River Basin Development and Rajarata Development Salinda Dissanayake were also present.
