Estate community will not barter their votes - Arulsamy

The leader of the 'Alternative Kandurata Janatha Peramuna', former Kandurata Peramuna Secretary and present Central Province member S. Arulsamy speaking at the news conference emphatically said that bartering of votes has been the usual trend in the Estate community, and they will not be deceived by the ploys deployed by certain leaders to snatch their votes this time.

He pointed out that it was President Chandrika Bandaranaike kumaratunga who first established a separate ministry for estate infrastructure development. This ministry did a yeoman service for the estate community, for which they were very grateful.

He added that irrespective and contrary to what their leaders say, the estate community is with them and not those so-called leaders who have virtually betrayed them for various personal gains.
