New date for musical show

The Hero Honda musical show scheduled to have been held today at Katunayake has been cancelled due to prevailing weather conditions. It will now be held the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium from 7.30 p.m. on October 21.


Sonduru Asapuva

Rohan Liyanage's second collection of Sinhala poems entitled Sonduru Asapuva will be launched at the Lumbini Theatre, Colombo at 10 a.m. on October 17.


Public lecture

A public lecture on 'The Art of Giving Presentations' by Dr. R.D. Guneratne, senior lecturer, Department of Chemistry, University of Colombo will be delivered on October 19 at 5.00 p.m. at the Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Science Auditorium, 120/10 Vidya Mawatha, off Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo 7.


Ifthar programme

The annual Ifthar programme jointly organised by the Borella Ahadiyya School and Noor Falah Quran Madarasa was held at the Ahadiyya Secretariat, Park Avenue, Borella Colombo recently. Ahadiyya Principal M. Shibly Hashim presided.

Colombo district Parliamentarian Alhaj M.H. Mohamed, Ceylinco Profit Sharing Investment Corporation Ltd Director Alhaj. M.I.M. Razeek and Colombo Ahadiyya School Deputy principal M. Ruzaik Farook addressed the gathering.

Western Provincial Councillor Alhaj S.H. Mohamed, Central Ahadiyya propaganda Secretary Alhaj A.L.M. Azwer, principals and teachers of the Ahadiyya Schools, Ulamas and parents participated.


Poster contest

The Lions Clubs International Peace poster contest of District 306 C2 will be held on October 16 at 3 p.m. at the Art Gallery Colombo 7.

The District Chairperson Peace Poster Contest Lion Chandrani Samayadasa has received posters from Colombo Eheliyagoda, Kalmunai, Hatton, Balangoda, Ratnapura, Dehiattakandiya, Homagama and Pannipitiya.

District Governor - District 306 C2 Lion K.D.K. Wijenayake and Lion lady Mallika will be the chief guests.


Public rally

A public rally organised by the Sri Lanka Christian People's Forum to protest against the proposed Anti-Conversion Bill will be held at the Negombo Town hall grounds on October 17 at 4 p.m.

This will be preceded by a protest march from near the 18th mile post Katunayake to the meeting grounds, said Rev. Jabamoney Ratnam of the Holy Trinity Church, Grandpass, Colombo.


Meditation practice

Ven. Olande Ananda Thera is conducting meditation practice sessions, at Nugegoda, Pagoda Road, First Cross Street, No 49/2 from 3.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. every Sunday and on Tuesday from 6.00 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.
