Zahira Super Sixteen Soccer Sevens

The Past Prefects Association of Zahira College has come up with a novel idea to promote seven-a-side soccer amongst schools with the Zahira - Samsung Super Sixteen Soccer Sevens to be played on October 1 at Zahira grounds at Maradana.

The organising committee has come up with this idea of giving all the opportunities to the youth of the country to further their interest in the game of soccer. The main objective in organising this tournament is to give prominence to the youth who are interested in the game of football and to build fellowship among football playing schools in Sri Lanka.

There will be two categories in the tourney - the Cup and Plate Championships and the winners of the cup category will get a trophy as well as cash prizes.

There will be a trophy too for the Plate category. Besides the team awards, there will be individual awards for the Man of the Cup competition as well as Man of the Plate competition and award for the best goalkeeper.

Dialog Telekom, Amana Takaful Ltd, Wijitha Group of Companies, Yasen Colour Separations, Group of 60's of Zahira College and Riza Zarook (MMC) have also come forward to support this event.
