Financial assistance for farmer children

The Agricultural and Agrarian Insurance Board will grant financial assistance of Rs. 5,000 for the farmer children who get through the Year-5 Scholarship Examination.

The Agricultural and Agrarian Insurance Board Director U. R. Chandradasa said that only farmers who have joined the Farmer Pension Scheme, Suwasetha Health Insurance Scheme, Cultivation Insurance Scheme or Livestock Insurance Scheme can apply for this financial assistance on behalf of their children who got through the examination.

Chandradasa added this will be a big boost for the farmer children for their future educational activities.

The farmers have to contact their respective agricultural research and production assistants, field officers of the Agricultural and Agrarian Insurance Board or the officers of Agrarian Services Centres and submit their applications on behalf of their children who got through the Year-5 scholarship examination.

The Board official will scrutinise applications and select eligible children on district basis. The National Savings Bank will release the money when the children need it for their educational activities.
