Positive thinking - A key to success

A man who aspires to reach dizzy heights in his chosen field of studies, must be motivated to live up to his full potential. He must necessarily have faith in himself, enabling him to pursue his cherished goals with self-confidence and unbounded enthusiasm.

To such an individual, who is apparently motivated by unyielding perseverance, the forward march to stardom remains an attainable reality rather than just an illusion. He is undoubtedly an optimist who does not shy away from challenges and any failures on his part he takes in his stride as he is a firm believer of the axiom that failures are the pillar to success.

He is undoubtedly inspired by great men of yore, who had made significant contribution to the field of science, arts, commerce, etc. whose great achievements had rewarded them with rich dividends in their life time, and after their demise their astounding achievements have gained momentum assuring them a permanent niche in the annals of human civilization.

The concept of positive thinking can be equally, applied not only to individuals but also to corporate and state organisations in which their staff can be motivated to achieve set targets within a stipulated time. The decisions of these organisations, can be effectively implemented by their employees after they are briefed about the strategic importance of these important decisions.

In any organisation the public relation officers play a pivotal role in convincing its work force about the feasibility of these vital decisions made by the directorate of such an organisation and also they actively involve in motivating and galvanizing the employees into action resulting in achieving envisaged set targets, thus highly increasing productivity in the process.

The secret behind the phenomenal success achieved by some of these corporate sector within a relatively short period can be deduced from the efficiency, motivation, and result -orientation displayed by their active and enthusiastic labour force, which can be regarded as a valuable asset which projects a positive image of the organisation. It will go a long way in attracting new investment opportunities and it will also have a magnetic effect on highly skilled job seekers who are keen to join such a profit making organisation.

On the other hand such organisations also interested in employing well-qualified and talented candidates, who believe in a visionary zeal that the sky is the limit in reaching hitherto un-pursued tempting goals.

The buoyant spirit displayed by the Astronauts such as Neil Armstrong who was apparently the first human being to step into the moon surface, zooming in a space-craft, engaged in an epic odyssey is a rare feat of man's undiluted perseverance and passion which was honed by the strict application of a mental condition which is known as positive thinking, resulting in monumental success as a reward for their endeavours.

It amply proves that homo sapiens can ascend to the highest summit, when their mental and physical faculties are harnessed to the peak condition, thus enabling them to make a remarkable contribution towards the wellbeing of the human race. The famous writer who wrote books on positive thinking, Napoleon Hill emphasised "What the mind of man can conceive and believe it can achieve".

Hopelessness and despair

The gist of his idea shows that achieving of any goal is a possibility as far as you believe that it can be acted upon. Therefore it's a pre-requisite that you are not saddled with hopelessness and despair which is an unwholesome result of negative thinking but instead you must use your latent talents and valuable experience gained, to the maximum in your bid to achieve the acme of success, like a faithful pilgrim traversing in the cobbled highway seeking his ultimate destination.

Surely, it is not as easy as making instant tea or instant coffee which is a trend popularized by the Media hype, catering to the idle fancies of the Ultra-Modern man, living in a mechanical set-up constantly mesmerized by the impact of relatively new devices such as Computer related Information technology and Satellite television.

Firm believer

Another characteristic which distinguish a positive thinker from the rest, is he is a firm believer of today. Therefore he is ever ready to grab any tempting opportunities coming his way, without any hesitation.

Sometimes, we are astounded by their meteoric rise to fame which actually is a result of a healthy mental condition based on positive thinking. Instead on depending on luck they shape their destiny according to their own mould.

Apart from the salient characteristics displayed by a man with a positive outlook such as motivation, perseverance, enthusiasm and believing in the motto that time is now ripe to grab opportunities, he is also interested in developing his personality.

Just like changes occurring in our day to day life personality also can be changed. Everybody likes to associate a man with developed personality.

He displays leadership qualities, who will be able to inspire others by his precepts and action personality, as we perceive it intangible, and one will find it difficult to give it a concrete definition. However a man with a developed personality conducts his activities with a bubbling cheerfulness, which human quality makes him pleasant and attractive to many admirers who eagerly seek his benevolent company.

Dr. O. S. Marden, author of the best seller 'Conquest of worry' says "every man is the architect of his own life and fortune and his success of failure depends upon the knowledge of his mental chemistry".

As such developing personality with positive outlook will certainly brings you closer to the fruition of your life - long ambitions and more importantly you will be transformed into a much sought personality, mostly due to your cheerful and humble disposition.

To sum up, a man adoring a positive outlook, will be able to surmount any challenges as a device, perfected to test his mental balance or equilibrium and he will even find such mundane set-backs, as something very invigorating without being unduly perturbed by them. Instead, he will face adversity squarely, for he is quite convinced that such impediments will in fact allow him to accumulate a reservoir of wide experience in life, which will enable him to face defeat and triumph with equal serenity and calmness.

The realization will dawn on him at last, that he has been born again, with Midas touch, for whatever he does will dazzle bequeathing him with success. In this favourable climate, it will not be surprising at all, that he will be invited to a banquet sooner than later, with a view to celebrating his success, as he has become a master of his chosen field, whether it is art, science, or commerce etc.

In which pursuit he has excelled, so that he is now confident enough to undertake to play, a positive role as a leader in his chosen field with renewed enthusiasm and also with a social conscience.
