DSI Super Sports Volleyball :

Over 1,000 schools compete in first stage
 

The all island school volleyball championship for the DSI super sports trophy organised by Volleyball Federation of Sri Lanka in association with Ministry of Education and Schools Volleyball Association is to commence today September 15. The championship which commences today at district level will continue till September 18.

The tournament is sponsored for the seventh successive year by DSI Group of Companies. A total of 1,848 teams, the largest participation for the tournament since its inception is due to compete in three different age categories under 14, 16 and 18 boys and girls. 1,107 boys teams and 741 girls teams from all 25 districts have entered the fray. Colombo district has entered the highest number of teams 169.

The provincial level matches are to be conducted from October 6-8. Meanwhile the national level matches are to be played from October 18 to 27 which is considered as the final stage. These final stage games are to be conducted at Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo. The finals are to be completed on November 4 and 5 at the same venue in Colombo.
