UNP ushered real development -Kodituwakku

The UNP ushered an era of real development in the country, said Kolonnawa UNP organiser Dr. Karunasena Kodituwakku.

The Party's Youth Fronts in every electorate must undertake a house to house campaign to explain this to the people, he told a meeting at the Gothatuwa Mullawatta Jaya Maga Pre-School Hall convened to re-organise the youth and women's organisations in the area.

Dr. Kodituwakku said it was the UNP that settled nearly a 100,000 families on the Mahaweli Zones and established about 200 garment factories which in turn generated employment to unemployed youth.

A large number of unemployed youth have been sent for foreign employment under the UNP regime. New universities were established in many parts of the island under the UNP Government Dr. Kodituwakku said.

Kotikawatta-Mulleriyawa Pradeshiya Sabha member Jaliya Tissa Mendis presided.
