The Industrial Development Authority (IDA) Central Province, a
partner organisation of Start and Improve Your Business Association of
Sri Lanka (SIYB - Sri Lanka), coordinated and delivered its fifth Expand
Your Business (EYB) training programme for growth oriented entrepreneurs
in Matale last week.
The training programme was held for 40 hours over 5 days and
consisted of 15 businessmen and women from Matale. Sponsored by Regional
Economic Advancement Project (REAP), the training reached out to
entrepreneurs enabling them to develop a business growth plan and
strategies to grow their business, expand the market and increase
profits.
It also provided the basis for better understanding of the practical
aspects of marketing, human resource management, finance and operations
management for strategic expansion of the business in the long term.
CEO of SIYB - Sri Lanka Swarnamali Abeyasuriya whilst commenting on
the programme said, "Growth-Oriented entrepreneurs play a vital role for
the Sri Lankan economy in terms of revenue generation and employment
creation. EYB strategic management package was developed by ILO to
educate these entrepreneurs to expand their businesses further and
therefore contribute to the development of SME industry in Sri Lanka.
IDA - Central Province has been instrumental in promoting the
programme among growth-oriented entrepreneurs.
She thanked EYB Consultants Sujan Nanayakara and Susantha Katukurunda
on their efforts. EYB is a practical, modular-based and interactive
course that establishes an on-going supportive relationship far beyond
the training room to meet the specific needs of growth-oriented
entrepreneurs.
The next EYB training by IDA - Central Province will be held in
Matale in October. |
