Sarath Amunugama at a function held at the auditorium of the Industrial
Ministry.
This was the first official act of Minister Amunugama since assuming
duties as the new Industrial and Investment Promotion Minister in
addition to his Finance Minister portfolio.
Addressing the gathering Minister Amunugama said: " One of the main
promises given by the government was to recruit 42,000 graduates to the
permanent cadre in the government sector and it was a original concept

As a government civil servant for so many years, I have come to know
that out of our 20 million population, one million are government
servants. Speaking further he also noted that the President has
instructed for a fully re-infrastructure of the BoI and should make it
an essential and dedicated institution for the country. "Therefore, the
service of these newly recruited graduates will assist to achieve this
target easily", he said. |
