PC House enters telecom industry with launch of Hybrex PABX System

PC House (Pvt) Ltd, entered Sri Lanka's telecommunication industry with the launch of the Hybrex PABX system for the first time in the country. Hybrex systems are used in the USA, Canada, China, France, Italy and occupy a large slice of the market share in Australia as well.

Chairman PC House S. H. M. Rishan addressing the launch.

Hybrex is one of the few PABX systems to offer wireless blue tooth connections, a time register and an alarm indicator. It supports voice and data connectivity on the same platform thus creating an easier-to-manage and better platform with greater flexibility.

A special feature is the in built Property Management System (PMS) for hotels, which indicates checking in and out, guest names, overall room status, late check in and out etc. It even has an SMS facility on all phones within the same digital terminal network, thus adding value to the traditional fixed line instrument.

Chairman PC House S. H. M. Rishan said that the Hybrex launch filled the need for a quality and multi-functional PABX system in Sri Lanka. "The continuous enhancement and upgrading of modern telephony in this country, demands an equally modern PABX system to support the growing needs of the corporate sector. This system is designed to do just that", he said.

General Manager PC House Saliya Wimalaratne said that the Company was proud to diversify its business interests and market presence further into the ICT and digital sphere with this foray into the telecommunications sector. "IT and modern telecommunications are inextricably linked and function parallely. With our wide ranging experience and track record as one of Sri Lanka's leading IT companies, I am confident that Hybrex will do well in the Sri Lankan market", he said.

Hybrex has an issued capital of US$ 1.9 million and employs over 200. The company's core competencies are in the field of OEM and ODM manufacturing of telecom equipment and application software.

A research carried out by Frost and Sullivan shows Hybrex holding 10% of the market in the first half of 2004 in Australia. Hybrex is also the OEM manufacturer for a number of reputed brands in the league of Ericsson and Philips. (AGP)
