Medicine donated to Habarana Hospital

THE Ministry of Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconciliation and the UNHCR donated medicine worth around Rs. 200,000 to the Habarana Rural Hospital recently.

The donation was sent by Dr. A.S. Kunasingham, Senior Advisor and UNHCR Project Director to the hospital's Medical Officer-in-Charge Dr. B.D.M.K.S.A. Madawalage on August 6 with the approval of Ministry Secretary M.S. Jayasinghe.

KAWYA Sewmini of No. 81, Nelunwewa Housing Scheme, Kirimetiyana, Lunuwila is suffering from an Acute Atrical Septal Defect.

She has been recommended an urgent surgery which is estimated to cost Rs. 175,000.

Her Father says, he is unable to foot this bill due to their current economic plight and kindly requests philanthropists and the public to assist her cause by sending contributions.

MISS M.M.F. Mirshana of Pudukudiyiruppu, Bathulu Oya is suffering from Arterial Septal Defect.

Consultant Cardiologist Dr. Y.K.M. Lahie has recommended an urgent surgery which is estimated to cost Rs. 235,000 to save her life.

A student of P/Omar Farook Maha Vidyalaya she says she is unable to foot this bill due to their current economic plight. Therefor she seeks public assistance.

All contributions should be remitted to A/C No. 207 - 060859 - 1, People's Bank Chilaw Branch.
