22nd Rowing Nationals : Air Force, Navy and Ananda in line for major honours
 

With a quarter-final or two and the odd semifinal and, a spate of heats gone through yesterday, on the Beira waters - the Rowing Nationals which began on Monday, has generated much enthusiasm and thrill, amongst participants and followers of the sports.

The Colombo Rowing Club has turned out to be a hive of activity with much excitement prevailing, it will gather even greater momentum as from today until Saturday, when the quarters, semis and the finals take place.

The oarsmen of Sri Lanka Air Force, Navy and Ananda have displayed pleasing form and are lining themselves for major honours.

Royal hasn't done badly either and with S.Thomas' though not having done well in the preliminaries and the quarters could make amends in the days to follow to come out to be in the reckoning.

Interesting clashes are expected on the final day, with the oarsmen entering the homestretch to end in tense close finishes.
