Anura pledges to continue foreign policy
 

The Government's foreign policy will be continued, pledged the new Foreign Minister Anura Bandaranaike assuming official duties at the Ministry yesterday. Bandaranaike made his first official visit to the Foreign Affairs Ministry at 11.15 a.m. yesterday and lit the traditional oil lamp before he was blessed with the chanting of pirith by Chief incumbent of Attanagalla Raja Maha Viharadipathi Ven. Pannila Ananda Thera.

Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker, on a flying visit to Sri Lanka, opened the office with the guest of honour, Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation, Mangala Samaraweera in the presence of other government officials and leading figures from the local travel industry. EDB to provide Rs. 225 m for 100 exporters
 

The Export Development Board will provide Rs. 225 million by way of a financial assistance scheme for nearly 100 exporters under the Dahas Diriya export oriented investment support scheme on August 29.

Golden Birds Sports Club, Radawana, Gampaha and Siyane Tharu Sports Club, Gampaha won the Men's and Women's President's Gold Cup Volleyball Championship at the National Youth Services Council Courts at Maharagama on Tuesday evening.
