Fifty one unit housing complex for tsunami victims undertaken
 

The construction of a fifty one unit housing complex for tsunami Victims has been undertaken by a French-based non-profit-making Sri Lankan Association on 3 acres of land belonging to the State Timber Corporation (STC) at Boossa in the Galle District.

The Rs. 47 million project of the Sri Lankan Association headed by Mrs. Patricia Wickremesinghe Villette is expected to be completed within three months. The STC land on which the housing complex is to be built has been released to the Urban Development Authority.

The total cost of the project which will also include a pre-school has been collected from private donors mainly from France, Chairman STC Fuard Ghany said yesterday. The foundation stone for the housing units was laid on August 18th at Boossa by Chandra Wickremesinghe, Chairman, Connaissance Buildings Ltd who initiated the project.
