Over 200,000 pay homage at Jaya Sri Maha Bodhiya

A crowd of over two lakhs had gathered at Anuradhapura to pay homage to the Sacred Jaya Sri Maha Bodhiya on the first day, it was observed. Many were also the devotees who missed the opportunity due to the restricted times.

Some of them had even stayed overnight at the Mahamewuna gardens in order to join the queue the following morning. The North Central Provincial Council, the police and several organisations have together made arrangements to provide the necessary facilities to the ever-increasing number of devotees.
