Hard fought for Police

Sri Lanka Police Sports Club pulled off a hard fought 25 points to 16 points win over Sri Lanka Air Force SC in their Caltex inter club 'A' division league rugby tournament Plate championship match played at Ratmalana yesterday. The winners led 15-8 at half time.


Ratnapura gets Cricket Academy

The Ratnapura District Cricket Academy will be launched today with practice sessions from under 9 to 15 age groups commencing at 2.00 p.m at the indoor cricket stadium, New Town, Hidellana, Ratnapura.


CR crush Havies 39-3

CR and FC outplayed their traditional rivals Havelocks SC by 39 points to 3 points in their Caltex inter club 'A' division league rugby tournament match played at Longden Place yesterday. The winners collected their points from two goals and five tries having led 17-3 at half time. Havelocks SC managed to put over only a solitary penalty.


Thomians win on first innings

S. Thomas' College beat St. Peter's College on the first innings in their inter school under 17 division one cricket tournament quarterfinal match played at Mount Lavinia. St. Peter's: 96 (S. Wijeratne 42) and 121 for 6 (S. Wijeratne 32, I. Peiris 34, M. Fernando 4 for 18). S. Thomas': 125 for 9 decl (R. A. Fernando 43, N. Mazahir 17, D. Tennekoon 17, K. Kulatunga 5 for 37).
