Hindus express gratitude

The secretary of the Sri vidya international Hindu Religious peedam Ramachandra Kurukal Babusharma yesterday expressed his gratitude to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister Hindu Cultural Affairs Douglas Devananda and The Government of India for free visa pilgrims.

Lecture

Dr. Avdesh Sharma M.B.B.S., M.D., D.P.M. (Psychiatry), Consultant Psychiatrist and Gold Medalist from National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, Bangalore will speak on "Hidden Dimension of Spirituality in Mental Health" (Especially for counseling tsunami victims) at the Saraswathy Hall, Lorenze Road, Bambalapitiya on July 25 at 6 p.m.

Dr. Avdesh Sharma has addressed more than 50 international and 100 national conferences and has represented India in many International Forums on "Mental Health", Drug Abuse" including the United Nations General Assembly.

This free lecture programme is organised by the Brahma Kumaris Raja Yoga Centres, Sri Lanka. All are welcome.

M. Y. Hussaina Umma (35), a mother of four from Atulugama, Bandaragama, is suffering from recurrent fainting attacks and the Consultant Cardiac Electro Physiologist Dr. Asanga Dunuwila of the National Hospital, Colombo who is treating her, has recommended an implantation of a permanent pacemaker to cure this disease.

The approximate cost of this special apparatus is Rs. 350,000 and the husband being a daily wage earning labourer - has found it extremely difficult to foot this bill.
