The opening of the second day was by Indigenous Medicine Minister Tissa Karaliyadda. Social Welfare and Women's Empowerment Deputy Minister S.M.Chandrasena opened the exhibition on the closing day.

"Rajarata Aruna" is a brainchild of Prime Minister Rajapakse, implemented jointly by the Prime Minister's Office, the Ministry of Skills Development and Vocational Training and the North Western and North Central Provincial Councils.

Deputy Minister Chandrasena said that the Prime Minister has taken steps to conduct similar exhibitions and trade fairs on a district basis to showcase the talents of rural craftsmen.
