New HiLux hits the road

Toyota recently introduced its all-new HiLux double cab pick-up to the Sri Lankan market. The vehicle, which has already hit the local roads, is the result of Toyota's global unified product development programme.

The 4WD version is especially powerful, though a 2WD version is also available. The engine option available in Sri Lanka is the 2.5 litre common rail turbodiesel.

A long-life fuel filter and an advanced fuel warning system are standard features. The transmission is a five-sped manual.

There is ample legroom for rear passengers in the double cab version and a powerful air-conditioner keeps all passengers comfortable. The ergonomically designed instrument cluster presents all the information to the driver clearly, even at night.

For extra safety and security, the HiLux comes with an electronic key. The vehicle can be started only when the ID in the electronic key matches the ID code in the engine immobiliser system. The keyless entry system lets the driver lock/unlock the doors from a distance. ABS brakes and airbags complement the safety features.

Toyota Lanka Limited is the local agent for Toyota vehicles in Sri Lanka.
