CCC's participation at TIBCO 2005 in Bucharest brings orders

A twelve member delegation led by Shanthi Wijesinghe, Managing Director, Consolidated Business Systems Ltd. (CBS), and Puvi Domingopillai, Senior Assistant Secretary General of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, visited the Czech Republic and Romania.

The delegation met Ing. Jiri Aster, Chairman, Regional Chamber in the Czech Republic, and Dr. Miloslav Jandik, Chairman Czech - Sri Lankan Joint Business Council. One-to-one business meetings were arranged between the Sri Lankan delegation and the Czech Republic Business Community.

The delegation also had the opportunity of meeting officials of the Romanian Trade Promotion Centre, who expressed interest in entering into an MOU with CCC.

At the invitation of CCC, Ambassador and Permanent Representative, for Sri Lanka in Austria and also accredited to the Czech Republic, Aruni Wijewardene, made a special visit to Prague to meet with the Chamber delegation.

The Sri Lankan pavilion at TIBCO 2005 was a great success, attracting visitors in large numbers. The ten stalls of the pavilion displayed tea, coconut products, spices, confectionery, gems and jewellery, along with the tourism sector represented by Jetwing Travels (Pvt) Ltd. Helladiva Collections' handcrafted Mahogany coffee tables and chessboards were popular among visitors to TIBCO.

Proprietor of Helladiva Collections, who is also the designer of the furniture, had an overwhelming response with confirmed orders for over 50 pieces of each of his items. Helladiva Collections is a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Central Province, which is affiliated to CCC.
