Ceylinco Life gives laptops for sales force

CEYLINCO LIFE has invested Rs. 25 million to enhance customer service and efficiency by providing the latest in mobile IT facilities to the company's sales force.

The initiative was launched last week with the presentation of 140 of the latest laptop computers from IBM to selected members of the Ceylinco Life sales team.

All recipients have been provided with secure access to the company's Intranet, along with specialised software, e-mail and Internet connections which will result in their servicing capabilities and response times taking a quantum leap over other insurance sellers in the market, the company said.

All information pertaining to the policyholders they service will be instantly available to the users of these laptops, enabling them to track premium payments and generate timely reminders.

Additionally, these personnel can receive reminders and lapse notices directly from the Ceylinco Life head office, eliminating transmission delays.

One of the critical benefits of being 'laptop enabled' is the ability to generate their own insurance quotations, dramatically speeding up response time to potential customers.

Speaking at the presentation of the laptops, Ceylinco Life's Chief Executive Director R. Renganathan said the sales force will have access to all statistics pertaining to sales as well to information on active and lapsed policies, complaints and other communications from customers.

He said the provision of laptops to the sales force was the latest in a series of initiatives by Ceylico Life to promote efficiency, professionalism and customer service.

"Ceylinco Life is the only life insurer to issue receipts for premium payments, was the first to provide sales personnel with motorcycles on a loan scheme, the first to produce qualifiers to the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) and the first to introduce professional development courses for qualifications such as Chartered Insurance Agency Manager (CIAM) awarded by the life Insurance Marketing and Research Association (LIMRA)," he said.
