YOSHITAKA Matsuno of ORIX Corporation (ORIX), Japan visited Lanka
ORIX Leasing Co Ltd (LOLC) on June 13 to discuss matters of mutual
interest and reaffirm ORIX's commitment to LOLC (in which they hold 30%
of the equity) on LOLC's 25th anniversary.
Matsuno, who heads the International Business Department of ORIX
Corporation, and is based in Tokyo, is one of two Directors of LOLC who
are nominated by ORIX.
During the course of his visit, Matsuno met with the Board of
Directors, CEOs and senior management of LOLC and all its subsidiaries
and associate companies.
Speaking to the LOLC group, Matsuno shared some of the highlights of
ORIX's development over its forty year history, which included ORIX's
venture into Sri Lanka in 1980, to join with the IFC and the Bank of
Ceylon in setting up Lanka ORIX Leasing Company Ltd, the pioneering
leasing company in the country.
Apart from a multitude of branches in Japan, ORIX is now established
in 40 countries worldwide. Matsuno said that LOLC's success had also
significantly contributed to the growth of ORIX Corporation.
The LOLC group in turn presented the progress, and future plans, of
each of its companies. This facilitated discussions on how the synergies
between the LOLC group and ORIX Corporation could be further enhanced
both locally and globally.
Makoto Shioda, who is ORIX's nominee as an Alternate Director and who
is based in Singapore also visited LOLC with Mr. Matsuno. |
