Textile quota for Sri Lanka under FTA
India will grant more concessions to Sri Lanka in the apparel and
clothing sector under the existing bilateral free trade agreement. New
Delhi has agreed to remove the present annual cap of 1.5 million pieces
of clothing per category in the sector.

PM opens Sri Lanka e-Government Centre of Excellence today
Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse, will officially open the e-Government
Centre of Excellence for Sri Lanka today. The Centre, the first of its
kind in the country, is born out of a true public private partnership
between the Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri
Lanka, Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration, Oracle
Corporation Singapore Pte Ltd, PC House and Millennium Information
Technologies on behalf of Sun Microsystems and Cisco Systems.
