Sivaram killing:
two arrested

The Colombo Crime Division (CCD) probing the killing of Dharmaratnam
Sivaram, editor of the pro-LTTE TamilNet website and columnist for the
Daily Mirror writing under the pseudonym Taraki, have arrested two
suspects described as members of the PLOTE organisation.
Investigators also have taken into custody a vehicle alleged to have
been used by the suspects to abduct Sivaram and the SIM of the mobile
phone used by Sivaram. After recording the statements of the suspects
they will be produced before the Mount Lavinia Magistrate today, said
CCD Director Senior SP Sarath Lugoda.
Earlier, investigators questioned over 125 persons in connection with
the killing of Sivaram and had recorded their statements, the CCD
Director said.
Police recovered the bullet riddled body of Sivaram near the
Diyawanna Oya in Battaramulla. |
