80,000 Malaysian jobs for Lankans within next six months
Malaysian Human Resources Minister Chang Ohn Fence has requested
Labour Minister Athauda Seneviratne to send at least 80,000 skilled
workers to Malaysia within the next six months during this year.
Seneviratne expressed these views at a press conference at the
Bandaranaike International Airport after attending the 93rd session of
International Labour Organisation summit in Geneva.
Seneviratne said he requested the Malaysian Government to provide
jobs to Sri Lankans during his tour to Malaysia.
'The Malaysian government accepted my request to provide 80,000 jobs
to Sri Lankans in Malaysia," he said.
There are plenty of vacancies in the fields of construction,
industrial, agricultural and health sectors in Malaysia and the
Malaysian government agreed to provide at least 80,000 jobs to Sri
Lankans without a limited number of vacancies.
The Honorary membership of Administrative body of the International
Labour Organisation was awarded to the Sri Lanka at the recent ILO
Conference. |
