Abacus funds post-tsunami relief efforts
Abacus International Lanka (Pvt) Ltd., reiterated its commitment to
rebuilding the lives of those affected by the tsunami by donating SGD
25,000 towards the Ruhunu Hospital Hamburg Trust in Sri Lanka.
"The Ruhunu Hospital - Hamburg Trust is spearheading the development
of the Peraliya Medical Health Centre project which is designed to
support the redevelopment of the medical and social infrastructure
within the tsunami-affected village of Peraliya. The centre will provide
social and community services including healthcare, health education and
disease prevention programmes.
"This donation marks a significant contribution to the broader
funding arrangements for the Peraliya Medical Health Care Centre. The
support and generosity of Abacus is acknowledged and appreciated by the
project's trustees, the Ruhunu Hospital Hamburg Trust," he said.
Abacus International Lanka has been supporting the recovery with its
own Rebuilding Tourism Livelihoods Scheme which works with grass roots
organisations to assist in rebuilding lives, businesses and the tourism
industry.
The Peraliya Medical Health Centre, is one such beneficiary with whom
Abacus is pleased to be associated with.
