by Ramani Kangaraarachchi
Sri Lanka will assist Pakistan in training people in the gem industry
which will be facilitated under the FTA signed between the two
countries. Two well qualified Sri Lankan instructors will leave for
Pakistan shortly to train the students at Institute of Gemmology in
Pakistan.
Deputy High Commissioner Ishtiaq Andrabi said that Pakistan which has
semi precious stones will benefit by this program.
The two countries can also share experience in gem cutting. The
policy on visas for students will also be liberalised in the future.
The two countries signed six memorandums of understanding including
one on tea and the second on criminal matters and the third on gems. |
