SriLankan Airlines is planning to expand its promotional activities
which is mainly based in the city of Colombo to other provinces very
shortly.
Rajeewa Jayaweera, Manager Sri Lanka and Maldives said: "We have
decided to set up a separate unit within our own capacity next month to
launch this program. Basically, most of our promotional packages are
targeted at people live within the Colombo city limits. But we want to
change that attitude now. Most people in the villages also have good
income. This new programme has focused on rural people and would
encourage them to travel around the world".
PSAs (Passenger Sales Agents) of the national carrier in Kandy, Galle,
Matara and Dambulla will assist in launching this provincial level
promotional packages.
According to Jayaweera the Airlines has sold 2,400 packages during
the last financial year and the company aims to double this figure next
year with focus on special promotional packages that encourage people to
travel around the world.
