AAP donates library books
THE Academy for Administrative Professionals (AAP) fulfilling its
pledge to educate many persons as possible, donated library books on May
28 to "Sudharma Maha Vidyalaya, Magalle, Galle, a school severely
devastated by the tsunami tidal waves.
In addition to this donation, a consignment containing exercise books
and school stationery from Australia donated by Kuma, Fatima, Mark,
Sathiya and Karuna were also handed over to the principal to be
distributed amongst the deserving students. A presentation to the
teachers who were affected by the tsunami was also made.
Principal of the school D.L. Sumith of the school welcoming the AAP
Board of Directors and the management staff, explained the loss of lives
and buildings which badly affected the school. Whilst appreciating the
kind gesture of AAP, he requested assistance in many of the matters to
be done through similar programmes.
AAP Director Dr. Ranjith Cabral explained the vision and mission of
AAP and its planned future activities. AAP was pleased to commence its
first programme, designed for school prefects with the informative
lecture by Dr Cabral on "Tips to be a Good Leader" which was actively
participated by the students and the teachers of the school.
Anusha Priyadharshini, Head Prefect of the Sudharma Maha Vidyalaya
thanked the AAP for selecting their school.
Shirani Abeywardena, AAP's Southern Province Co-ordinator and the
President of the Galle District Tsunami Victim Women's Welfare
Association was instrumental in locating the school and helped identify
their needs. |
