New Chairman of NLB

Vasantha Parakrama Senanayake has been appointed as the Chairman of National Lotteries Board (NLB).

A past student of St. Thomas' Prep School, he completed his LLB degree with honours from the University of Buckingham, UK.

Senanayake also functions as an honorary advisor to President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga and is the SLFP District Organiser for Polonnaruwa. He is currently involved in initiating and working with farmer communities and youth groups in the Polonnaruwa district in supporting them in their agricultural and employment needs by providing skills training and other related facilities to uplift their living standards. Senanayake has initiated programs to empower women in the district by identifying cottage industries that these women can work in and earn an income for themselves and their families.

Senanayake is the youngest Chairman ever to be appointed to National Lotteries Board and one of the youngest Advisors' to the President.
