Minister to look into grievances of trade unions

"I will appreciate if the union leaders themselves forward their grievances to me. I will be personally involved in solving the problems and provide a satisfactory postal service to the public", said Posts and Telecommunications and Udarata Development Minister D.M. Jayaratne.

He was speaking at a discussion held at the Ministry of Post and Telecommunication Auditorium aimed at providing speedy solutions to problems faced by the Postal Department. Minister added that he notified trade unions to send their grievances in writing to him.

But, within this week no one had done so, the Minister said. He also said that trade unions should print information regarding officers who have been under interdiction for a long-time without their salary.
