Bush-Clinton announce one million US $ to build new homes, 100
children's playgrounds and schools
Former Presidents Bush and Clinton recently announced that they have
collected US $ 100 m for Asian Region tsunami relief and construction
efforts.
"When we announced the Bush-Clinton Tsunami Fund in January - we
never expected the overwhelming response," Bush said.
Out of the funds collected in Texas, the former President announced
US $ one million will go to Sri Lanka to build 100 children's
playgrounds, who lost their parents, homes and schools in 13 districts
on the coast and housing programs are proven to be underfunded by other
sources.
The Bush-Clinton Fund will donate to thus project as well. During
their visit to Sri Lanka said they were saddened by the plight of the
children who had lost their parents, homes and schools and they pledge
to bring happiness to their lives.
