SAARC Information Centre set up in Kathmandu
The Information Centre of the South Asian Association of Regional
Cooperation was set up in Kathmandu to collect information relating to
SAARC and exchanging information among the countries.
The centre's main functions are to collect information of activities
in all SAARC countries, to play the role of the SAARC information bank,
to coordinate and promote the on-going SAARC exchange program and to set
up coordination between print and electronic media.
The centre's management committee will have 10 members which include
one each representative from SAARC countries, one from the SAARC
secretariat, one from Nepali Foreign Ministry and one representative
from the Information Department of Nepal. - Xinhua |
