President, JVP to continue talks on N-E tsunami efforts

A discussion on the North-East tsunami relief efforts was held between President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga and the JVP yesterday at the President's House.

There was a friendly exchange of views between the two sides, states a news release from the Presidential Secretariat. Both sides agreed to meet again next week to further discuss the issue.

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse, Ministers Anura Bandaranaike, Mangala Samaraweera, Susil Premajayanth, Nimal Siripala de Silva, Athauda Seneviratne and Deputy Ministers Dilan Perera and Lasantha Alagiyawanna and MP Wijedasa Rajapaksa were with the President at the discussion.

The JVP was represented by party Secretary Tilvyn Silva, MP Wimal Weerawansa and Ministers Wijitha Herath, Bimal Ratnayake and Sunil Handunnetti.
