Percy Abeysekera felicitated

The Percy Abeysekera felicitation ceremony was held at Wasana Grounds, Polgahahena, Kandana in the presence of nearly 20,000 crowd with music backed by popular Sun Flower Band with a galaxy of popular singers. A special felicitation song dedicated to Percy was composed and sung by famous singer Dhanapala Udawatte. This show was organized by the Wasana Sports Club with its President Rohitha Siriwardena and its energetic committee who did an excellent job.

Percy is also ever grateful to Chandima (Chandi) a businessmen who was instrumental in promoting the felicitation ceremony. He also paid a glowing tribute to his Chairman. ACL Cables Upali Madanayake for helping him in all his endeavours, Percy's Sister's son-in-law Dr. Marirus Almeida a Consultant at Ratnapura General Hospital, was also highlighted by Percy as a person who helped him medically.

Chairman ACL Group of Company's Upali Madanayake, Mrs. Madanayake and the family, Western Province Provincial Council Member Nihal Jayawardena, International Match referee and former Sri Lankan cricket captain Roshan Mahanama, popular media personality Brian Thomas, and a host of present and former cricketers, and cricket fans in thousands enjoyed this fabulous show.

Finally, Percy thanked everyone who attended this function and had a special thank you to Dhanapala Udawatte who composed and sang the felicitation song. Police officers of Ragama Police station, Ja-Ela Police station, Kandana Police Station and all the police officers who looked after all security arrangements were also commended by Percy.
