Ingrin opens graphic media knowledge centre in Galle
The Ingrin Institute of Printing and Graphics, opened its new Media
Knowledge Centre in Galle.
This fully fledged vocational centre, A concept of Southern Province
Governor Kingsley T. Wickramaratne manifests his vision and also that of
the Ingrin Institute of taking high tech education and training
especially to the youth in urban and rural areas.
This will enhance their employability potential in an industry that
is reckoned the third largest in the world.
Ingrin offers a number of training programs designed to impart
knowledge and skills on par with technological developments in Sri
Lanka's printing, packaging and advertising industries.
The main objective of the institute is to improve the general
standard of printing and graphics industry in Sri Lanka through
provision of qualitative training at affordable prices and to assist
those who are interested in pursuing a career in printing, particularly
school leavers, by creating awareness and providing necessary training
to secure gainful employment in the printing and graphics industry.
The management of the Institute has set a very ambitious vision for
the Institute. It has also drawn up plans to improve its existing
services and expand as well as diversify into new areas of related
services.
To mark the inauguration of the Ingrin Centre in Galle, 200
scholarships were awarded. On completion they will enter the printing
and graphics industry as fully trained printing and graphic personnel.
The Media Knowledge Centre in Galle was funded by the Dutch Ministry
of Development Cooperation and established in association with the
Southern Provincial Council. |
