CSE to hold 'Investor Day' in Panadura
The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE), one of the best performing stock
markets in the world since 2001 has experienced a major inflow of retail
investors in the recent past. Local investors accounted for 81% of the
total turnover of the CSE in 2004.
The CSE is currently in the process of educating investors regarding
the 'Stock Market' as an investment tool.
For the first time ever the CSE will be introducing a concept called
"Investor Day" which will be in the form of an open day to the public
that would include seminars, workshops, live market information, one to
one meeting facility with officers of member firms (Broking Firms) and
Trading Members (engaged in Govt. Debt Securities), opening of CDS
accounts, investment advise, and educational videos, etc. Officials of
the CSE, member firms and trading members will be present at the Town
Hall, Panadura on April 29, 2005 from 8.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m to offer
their services to the investing public in Panadura and suburbs.
The CSE invites the investing public to take part in the day's
programmes for which entrance will be free.
The CSE intends extending the 'Investor Day' concept to other parts
of the country in the future, a press release said. |
