Team for Abu Dhabi tourney

A 14-member representative team led national captain Marvan Atapattu will take part in the tri-nation cricket tournament for the inauguration of the Sheikh Zayed cricket stadium in Abu Dhabi from April 29-May 1.

A media release from the Sports Ministry appointed interim committee states the organisers of the tournament has invited representative teams from Sri Lanka, India and Pakistan to participate in the tourament which has official ICC approval, but not will not be considered as official one-day internationals.

The release states that the national selectors met on April 20 and picked the following squad which has been approved by the Sports Minister:

Marvan Atapattu (captain), Mahela Jayawardene (vice captain), Kumar Sangakkara, Shantha Kalavitigoda, Tillakratne Dilshan, Michael van Dort, Russel Arnold, Avishka Gunawardena, Lasith Malinga, Ruchira Perera, Malinga Bandara, Suraj Mohamed, Gayan Wijekoon, Nandika Ranjith.
