Preparing for u-19 World Cup

THE Executive Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) yesterday unanimously decided that the under-19 District and Provincial Tournaments will be held as part of its preparations for the 2006 u-19 World Cup.

The tournament will be conducted according to ICC Age Playing conditions and age guidelines. Players born on or after 1st September 1986 will be eligible to take part in this tournament.

As part of the Domestic Program the following tournaments will be held as scheduled: Under-23 - June/July

Premier League/Sara - September/ October/November

Inter-Provincial - December

Meanwhile the SLC's Tournament Committee will conduct a meeting with Premier Division 1 and Sara Division 1 Clubs on Saturday (April 23) at 11.00 a.m. at SLC Headquarters.

Cricket Secretaries and Captains of the respective clubs are kindly requested to attend this meeting to discuss and plan tournaments for the year.
