Zydus Cadila to introduce more drugs to the local market
Zydus Cadila, one of India's top four pharmaceutical companies with a
group turnover of Indian Rs. 15000 Million and the second largest
pharmaceutical company in Sri Lanka hopes to expand its local operations
and increase the variety of drugs currently being supplied to the local
market .
Zydus Cadila's Plants are approved by US FDA, MHRA UK, MCC South
Africa and ANVISA Brazil to name a few of the worlds most strict
pharmaceutical regulators. Executive Director Zydus Cadila, Ganesh Nayak,
who visited Sri Lanka said that currently his organisation was present
in all the key segments such as Cardiac, Gastro, Asthma and Anti
infectives in Sri Lanka .
He added that Sri Lanka's asthma patients could also look forward to
3 more DPI's as well as 8 Metered Dose Inhalers [MDI's] from Zydus
Cadila . The market for Anti Asthmatics is growing fast, estimated at
10%, while in Sri Lanka Asthmatics constitute around 6.7% of the market.
Nayak said that their range of MDI's would be more cost effective
than the ones currently available in the market. Zydus Cadila hopes to
launch a wide range of drugs to the local market later this year. |
